What is the difference between ATC and ceramic tint?
ATC is a dyed window film, while CTX and IRX are ceramic films. The main difference is heat rejection: ATC blocks up to 22% of infrared heat, while ceramic films block 66-88%. ATC is more affordable and still provides excellent UV protection (99%+), but ceramic films keep your car noticeably cooler. Choose ATC for style and UV protection on a budget; choose ceramic for maximum cooling.
Will ATC turn purple over time?
No. Unlike cheap films that have dye applied only to the surface, LLumar ATC has the charcoal dye integrated throughout the film. This color-stable construction prevents the purple discoloration that plagues low-quality tints. Your ATC film will maintain its true charcoal color for years.
How long does ATC installation take?
Most vehicles are completed in 2 to 2.5 hours. Larger SUVs or trucks may take up to 3 hours. We recommend scheduling an appointment to ensure same-day completion.
Is ATC legal for front windows in Florida?
Florida law requires front side windows to allow at least 28% visible light transmission. ATC 35 (38% VLT) and lighter shades are legal for front windows. Rear side windows and back glass have no restrictions, so any ATC shade is legal for those positions.
Will ATC interfere with my phone or GPS?
No. LLumar ATC is a dyed film, not a metallic film. It contains no metal particles, so it will not interfere with cellular signals, GPS, Bluetooth, satellite radio, or any other electronic devices.
How long before I can roll down my windows?
Wait 3 to 5 days before rolling down freshly tinted windows. Florida's humidity requires additional curing time for the adhesive to fully bond. Rolling windows down too early can cause the film to shift or peel.
Should I upgrade to ceramic tint instead?
It depends on your priorities. If maximum heat rejection is important (you park outside frequently or have leather seats), ceramic tint is worth the upgrade.
